The Hoke County Health Department

Because the cost should not be a barrier to a child’s safety, the Partnership sponsors a low-cost child passenger safety seat program through the Hoke County Health Department. Qualifying families learn how to properly use the passenger safety seat from a qualified technician. The child passenger safety seat is crucial to preventing injury and death. For more information, please call the Public Health Educator at 910-875-3717.

The Hoke County Health Department also offers a comprehensive initiative to promote safe sleep practices. The program provides educational workshops, online resources, and community engagement events that target new parents, caregivers, healthcare providers, child care centers, community organizations, and cultural groups. Through these targeted approaches, the program empowers caregivers with the knowledge and skills to provide infants with the best possible sleep environment. Cribbettes will be distributed to families with newborns who need separate sleeping spaces.

Speech Connections, LLC is a private practice in Pinehurst and Spring Lake, NC, that provides speech-language therapy services to children from birth to 5 years of age diagnosed with developmental delays and/or specific disorders. Children who are not eligible for Early Intervention (ages 0-3 and 3-5) services but have a delay that would benefit from therapy are served by this activity, and children who are receiving Infant-Toddler or Exceptional Children Services may receive an enhanced level of service through this activity. Highly qualified Speech Pathologists and Speech Pathology Assistants provide direct therapeutic services in the most natural environment for the child, whether at home, the child care center, or the local Raeford office. Please call 910-295-2609 and ask to speak to the Director of Operations for more information.

Speech Connections also provides applied behavior analysis services to children 3 to 5 years of age diagnosed with Autism in the clinic through our Kaleidoscope Program.  Children who need a more intensive program for school readiness than Infant Toddler or Exceptional Children Services are being served by this activity.  Up to 1 behavior analyst and five behavior technicians will work together to provide direct therapeutic services in the clinical setting.  For applied behavior analysis, services will be provided one-on-one, 30-40 hours per week.
