Parents As Teachers
Education begins at home!
Parents as Teachers (P.A.T.) assists expectant parents and families with children ages birth through five years in understanding how to nurture their child’s development.
P.A.T. is mainly targeted toward Hispanic families with limited English proficiency and low-income, military, and teen parents. P.A.T. fosters positive growth and well-being of children and families. P.A.T. uses a multi-pronged approach: peer support, group meetings, home visits, developmental screenings, and referrals to community resources.
